Melissa is a native of Pittsburgh who received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Sciences. She also obtained a Masters degree of Physician Assistant from Duquesne University in 2004. Since the summer of 2005, Melissa has been working at Rehabilitation and Pain Specialists.

As a Physician Assistant, Melissa works with the physicians to provide non-operative treatment of patients’ pain. This includes medication management, interventional spinal procedures, and physical therapy. Patients are often seen for follow-up appointments with Melissa, to discuss their treatment.

The relationship between a PA and physicians is of mutual trust and respect. The PA is a delegate for the physician, treating the patient in the style and manner developed and directed by the supervising physician.
